The full-service version of ICQ s messaging client offers up a host of communication features beyond just instant messaging. If you use everything here, the ads in the messaging window will be a small price to pay, but if not, those ads are likely to send you seeking another client. So what do you get? Most important from a messaging standpoint is probably multiuser chat, unavailable in ICQ Lite, and beyond that you get a Web-based messaging center, enhanced status message functions for your contact list, and quite a few interesting community options, including robust search capabilities for meeting people. For those who rely on an IM network as an important part of their social world, ICQ Pro will certainly impress, but it s probably too much program for the average chatter.
